The 28-year-old Gabon striker, who has scored 141 goals for Dortmund since joining in 2013, signed a long-term contract with the storied London club. His transfer fee outstrips the £46.5 million that Arsenal paid for French striker Alexandre Lacazette last August. Aubameyang’s arrival is likely to lead to the departure of veteran marksman Olivier Giroud. “Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang has joined us from Borussia Dortmund on a long-term contract for a club-record fee,” the statement from Arsenal said. The club described him as “one of the world’s most highly-rated strikers”. “He scored 98 goals in 144 Bundesliga games for Dortmund and had a hand in 172 goals in 213 matches in all competitions for his former

The 24-year-old Batshuayi has been signed until the end of the season to fill Aubameyang’s boots having spent the season on Chelsea’s bench behind Alvaro Morata. “Michy is a young, very interesting striker, who has a high quota of goals,” Dortmund’s director of sport Michael Zorc told the club’s website. “He has proven his exceptiona

The broadcaster reports that the 29-year-old playmaker — who has been with the Gunners since joining from Real Madrid for a then-record club fee of £42.4million ($60million, 48.2million euros) in 2013 — signed a three-and-a-half year contract and will earn around £350,000 a week. Clinton ‘Regrets’ Not Firing Aide Accused Of Sexual Harassment

Image
Hillary Clinton says she should have sacked a male staffer accused of sexual misconduct while working on her 2008 presidential campaign. Clinton made the remarks in a lengthy Facebook post on Tuesday night just minutes before President Donald Trump began his State of the Union address. “I very much understand the question I’m being asked as to why I let an employee on my 2008 campaign keep his job despite his inappropriate workplace behaviour,” Clinton wrote. “The short answer is this: If I had it to do again, I wouldn’t.” The aide, Burns Strider, was accused by a younger female subordinate of repeated sexual harassment in late 2007. Two advisers looked into the complaints and recommended that Strider be fired, according to the New York Times, which first broke the story. Clinton overruled them, although she did punish Strider. Clinton said she demoted him, docked his pay, separated him from the woman, assigned her to work under another campaign official and require

China Urges Trump To Drop ‘Cold War Mentality’

Photo: Nicolas ASFOURI / POOL / AFP Beijing criticised the “outdated Cold War mentality” of the United States Wednesday after President Donald Trump named China among threats to American values in his State of the Union address. In recent weeks, US officials have laid the groundwork for a strategic pivot that envisions a world of renewed great power competition with the likes of Russia and China. In his State of the Union address to Congress and the nation on Tuesday, Trump described Moscow and Beijing as challenging “our interests, our economy, and our values”. In Beijing Wednesday, Chinese Premier Li Keqiang said the common interests of the US and China “far outweigh our differences and disagreements”. A steady relationship with the United States is “also in the interest of the whole world,” Li said after meeting with British Prime Minister Theresa May. “China hopes that the United States will work with us and c

US Threatens New Sanctions As Russia Laughs Off Putin List

Image
The United States warned Tuesday that it may soon impose new sanctions on Russian figures after Vladimir Putin laughed off the release of a US target list of his closest and richest allies. The world was braced for a US sanctions onslaught on Monday when a new law came into effect 180 days after President Donald Trump, still hopeful for warmer ties, begrudgingly signed it. But to general surprise, Washington declined to identify any companies or individuals to face new measures, and the Treasury contented itself with issuing a list of top Russian officials and super-rich businessmen it regards as Putin’s inner circle. The people on the list will not face immediate action — despite calls for Moscow to be punished for alleged interference in the 2016 US election — and Putin dismissed the United States’ latest “unfriendly act” as a minor inconvenience. US officials admitted the public version of the list had been drawn up based on publicly available data such as Forbes M

Trump Vows Again To Bring Down Prescription Drug Prices

US President Donald Trump speaks to the press before a meeting in the Pentagon January 18, 2018 in Washington, DC. Brendan Smialowski / AFP President Donald Trump vowed again on Tuesday to bring down prescription drug prices in the United States, an issue on which his government has been accused of dragging its feet. Trump has also raised eyebrows by naming a former pharmaceutical executive, Alex Azar, to be the secretary of health and human services. In his State of the Union Speech, Trump said bringing drug prices down was one of his top priorities. He noted that in many countries, prices for medicines are often much lower than in the United States. “That is why I have directed my administration to make fixing the injustice of high drug prices one of our top priorities,” Trump said. “Prices will come down.” One way the government could do this is by exercising its purchasing power in the drug market. But despite Trump’s pledges, his administration has shown little i

North Korea Calls Trump’s Administration Policy Of Racism

Brendan Smialowski / AFP North Korea struck back at the United States on Wednesday, accusing the Trump administration of being a billionaires’ club that harbors a “policy of racism” while denying freedom of the press and health coverage to citizens The “White Paper on Human Rights Violations in the U.S. in 2017”, was issued by the Institute of International Studies in the Democratic People’s Republic of Korea (DPRK) and circulated by its diplomatic mission in Geneva. It did not refer to the row between North Korea and the United States and its allies over Pyongyang’s nuclear and missile programs, or to the international sanctions imposed against it. U.S. President Donald Trump, in his first State of Union speech to Congress on Tuesday, branded North Korea’s leadership “depraved”. He told Americans that its pursuit of nuclear missiles could “very soon threaten our h

VIDEO: Prophet Shepherd Bushiri caught faking another miracle

Image
This is the moment controversial Malawian self-styled prophet, Shepherd Bushiri, is exposed while faking another miracle. Mr. Bushiri was trying to show that he could capture pictures of family members of one of his congregants in the spirit, meanwhile all he did was open up the pictures on the gallery of an Ipad.  According to Malawi24, the clergyman took down the video which was uploaded on his You Tube channel in mid April 2015 after being cornered.  Watch the video below: Recall that the controversial man of God, popularly called ‘Major 1’, had in the past posted a video in which he claims he was 'walking on air.'  As he was about to land, the camera quickly panned away to avoid filming one of the men who helped to suspend Bushiri in the air to make it look as if he was floating. But the footage caught the man's shadow as Bushiri's feet returned to the ground.

A sleazy landlord has been caught on camera offering a "sex for rent" deal to a young woman. The unnamed man was willing to forego the £650 a month rent in exchange for sex with his new tenant once a week, according to an undercover ITV sting. Kenyan TV stations to remain shut indefinitely after covering opposition `inauguration'

Image
Three Kenyan television stations will remain off the air indefinitely as the government investigates the "swearing in" of opposition leader Raila Odinga, the interior minister said on Wednesday. Independently owned Citizen TV and Radio, KTN and NTV were switched off on Tuesday after they transmitted live coverage of an opposition ceremony to "swear in" Odinga into office. Fred Matiang'i, who is also the minister in charge of security, accused some elements in the media of facilitating the "illegal act", putting lives of thousands of Kenyans at risk. "The government took a decision to shut down the concerned media houses, until further notice, as it launches a full investigation," he told a news conference. Odinga, whose supporters say he is Kenya's legitimate leader and President Uhuru Kenyatta's election was neither free nor fair, took a symbolic presidential oath at the ceremony. Matiang'i said the oppos
